Congratulations to Darian Ward, on winning the Buderim Billiards & Snooker Club Intermediate Snooker Championship for 2024.
Judith Swanson and Darian Ward met in the first semi-final, which came down to a tight finish in their third frame, Darian coming out victorious.
Terry Pinder and Andy Herbel met in the second semi-final, and while on paper Andy was a strong contender, Terry’s form was too strong. Terry having won B Grade, he also found himself playing in the Intermediate Final.
The final between Terry and Darian was the best of 5 frames. Some close frames were had and one thumping frame win by Terry.
Eventually the final was decided in four (4) frames with Darian (3) defeating Terry (1).
The Intermediate Snooker Championship is open to players with handicaps of 10 or greater. Matches are played as the best of three frames, with all matches played off scratch (no handicaps).
Thirteen (13) players nominated to play the Intermediate Grade event this year.
