Trophy Night 2016

Last Monday the Club’s Trophy Night was held at the Red Bridge Motel restaurant.  A very enjoyable evening was had by all, with traditional Christmas fare and a bar tab to help attendees enjoy the festive spirit.  Winners and runners-up in the various Club competitions held throughout 2016 received their prizes – Bunnings gift cards being used again this year.  Invited guests in attendance included Bernadette McMahon, the granddaughter of Vince Crosby, whose Shield is the perpetual trophy for the major handicap competition, and Ken Crosby, the son of William Crosby whose Shield is the perpetual trophy awarded to the winner of the major open competition held each year.  Bernadette and Ken presented their trophies to our winners for 2016 – Matt Shepherd and Bob Leach respectively.  On behalf of the QBSA, the president, Bob Pearce, also presented members of our outstanding A Grade Pennants team with their flag for their success in reaching the grand Final – losing narrowly to Sherwood Phoenix.  The evening included a snooker and billiards trivia competition which was won by Bob Leach.
