Events

Social events such as the Club’s Trophy Night are held annually.  From time to time we collaborate with other clubs to jointly host larger events.

Apart from formal competitions, the club organises other ‘fun’ events such as a snooker pairs round-robin over two nights.  There is also a pairs competition between teams representing the President and Vice-President as well as a Social Night Competition featuring unusual scoring!

Every Tuesday night is a social night that features players of different abilities taking part in pairs matches.  If you are new to the club, or just thinking of joining, this is a good time to come along and meet some of the members and try your hand at a game.  Of course, you can also ask them any questions you may have about the club.

In the past, our club has also been a part of events featuring players from other clubs on the Sunshine Coast such as Maroochydore RSL and Gympie.  These are jointly organised and games are played at all three locations.  In 2016, We once again hosted a team from Redlands on the 7th June 2015 in support of the QBSA junior development program and an enjoyable day was had by all. Earlier that year, the club hosted the inaugural combined Maroochy RSL and Buderim S C invitation snooker handicap competition.

The club, being a community-based, not-for-profit organisation needs to raise funds to meet expenses such as rent, power, table maintenance etc.  Apart from the money gained through fees, the club also holds fund-raising events, such as sausage-sizzles at Bunnings, to provide for these on-going expenses.

Trophy Night is held towards the end of the year when the winners of the year’s various competitions receive their trophies and awards.  On this night, two of the club’s most prestigious trophies, the Chadwick Shield and the Nev. Brockett Memorial Trophy, are presented by descendants of the original donors –Ken Chadwick and Bernadette McMahon.
