Tristan Claridge Wins 2011 Chadwick Shield

The final of the 2011 Chadwick Shield open snooker competition was played on Tuesday night at Buderim Billiards and Snooker Club between Mike Naray and Tristan Claridge. The match was a tense battle of high quality snooker with lengthy safety battles, on at least one occasion lasting more than 5 mins without a pot or false shot.

Tristan was 2 frames to nil up in the best of 5 frame final, but Mike fought back with a superb 32 break and went on to take the third frame on the pink ball.

It appeared the match may go to a fifth and deciding frame midway through the fourth frame but Tristan was able to put together some useful breaks to take the frame and the match 3 – 1.

The Chadwick Shield is the clubs annual open snooker competition. It is a knockout competition with each round played over five frames.
