Welcome to the Buderim Billiards and Snooker Club!

The Buderim Billiards and Snooker Club is the oldest on the Sunshine Coast having opened in 1945. Situated in the Buderim War Memorial Hall, the club now has almost 100 members who come from as far away as Brisbane and Gympie.

There are two full-size tables available during the social mornings on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am while there is a social night each Tuesday from 7.30pm. The club caters for players of all standards, from novices to experts, and becoming a member is easy.

Internal competitions are held throughout the year and the highlight of the calendar is the Anniversary Shield, which attracts some of the state’s best. Teams from Buderim also compete in the Brisbane and District Pennant snooker and billiards competitions.

The club is on the corner of Main and Church Streets, Buderim.

Newsflash

Shirley Smith was the star of the President’s and Vice-President’s Trophy night in June, beating a field of more than 30 players in the modified handicap event. Smith’s potting was outstanding and she was a comfortable winner ahead of Gavin Baynham and Dennis Evans, while Graham Baker picked up the high break with 101.

A special guest on the night was Vic Grant, a member of the club 42 years ago, and he has remained a strong supporter through his work at Bunnings Maroochydore. Bunnings has been very generous to the club over the past couple of years, providing vouchers and in-kind support.

The club has been given a barbecue stall at Bunnings on December 28 and we will be relying on volunteers to cook the sausages. See – or avoid! – a committee member to register your interest for the day, which will form the year’s major fundraiser.
