Upset win just out of reach

Buderim nearly pulled off a big shock against the table-topping Redlands in the Brisbane and District Pennant contest at the club on Monday (May 12). Graham Baker’s excellent victory over the highly rated junior Kurt Brown – he came back to win 2-1 after losing the first frame – built on the tight 2-1 success of Peter Gilks to start the night.

John Wells took a frame off Ashley Coe before Peter Warwick was unable to stop Steven Balderson and the tie went to Redlands 7-5. It was an impressive display from the Buderim side, which is looking to build on the gains it made during the first half of the season.
